Remember Remember We're Now In November

October flew by and the season is starting to pick up now. Some teams are struggling and some are dominating. The Carolina Hurricanes won their first game of the season just last night and the Anaheim Ducks have the most games won with nine. Sidney Crosby has the most points in the league right now with 18 and Corey Perry is leading all players with 10 goals. As for the Bruins, Carl Soderberg leads the team with 10 points and Brad Marchand leads the team in goals with four. Boston is fourth in their division and sixth in their conference.

Game Recaps:

Vs. Minnesota Wild
The Bruins started off down but came back to lead the game with a little help from the youngster Seth Griffith. He scored to tie the game before the end of the first period and then 5:23 into the second period he netted this beauty. (What a majestic pass form Soup)
Lucic had a sweet tip on a rocket from Krug to put the Bruins up 3-1 entering the third period. That's where things began to melt. The Bruins just didn't show up to the third period and the Wild scored three unanswered goals to win the game 4-3.

Vs. Buffalo Sabres
Once again the Bruins started off in the hole, but Quaider suddenly remembered how to play hockey and ripped a wrister from the top of the circle. (His first goal in over a year)
The tie game didn't last for too long because Ennis beat Svedbergh on a two on one to put the Sabres back on top. In the third period Loui Eriksson assisted on a tip in goal by Marchand to tie the game with 5:30 left in the game. (Assume the overtime position) With 3:40 left in overtime Brad Marchand ripped a beauty passed Enroth.
Marchand had a hand in every goal that game and was named first star. Welcome back little honey badger!

Vs. Ottawa Senators
David Krejci was not in the lineup. (What's that all about?) The Bruins actually were the first to score with Marchand continuing his hot streak, but the Sens tied it up right before the end of the first. Late in the second, Matt Fraser showed he can hang with the big boys and scored two goals in 1:28 seconds. (Not bad for a last minute replacement) The German Hammer abosluty crushed one in from the blue line to make the game 4-1. Fun fact, Carl Soderberg was on the ice for all four goals. The Sens netted one late in the third but the Bruins came out with the victory with the late addition as the shining star.

Injury Report:
Zdeno Chara 4-6 weeks (knee injury)
Kevan Miller indefinitely (shoulder injury)
Torey Krug 2-3 weeks (broken finger)
David Krejci ???

Around The League:
Alex Burrows was suspended for three games, not for biting this time, but for a late hit to the head.

The legend Gordie Howe suffered a stoke this past week and the Detroit Red Wings honored him with this tribute.
Marian Hossa scored his 1000th NHL point this week!

I'm thinking about writing a post about my favorite hockey players in halloween costumes, so keep your eyes peeled for that either this week or next! Happy Movember everyone!
