In Monday nights against the Tampa Bay Lightning, Steven Stamkos was racing back to protect the net and ended up slamming right into it tibia first. He tried to get up, but immediately fell back down to the ice. It was excruciating just to watch, I can only imagine the amount of pain he was in. You never like to see players get hurt and taken out on a stretcher, nonetheless Steven Stamkos. Stamkos is a hell of a hockey player! He was and still is leading the league in goals with 14 and was also leading in points with 23. He is a true competitor and a genuine guy. He plays the game the way all guys should! He's tenacious without being reckless and finishes his checks without being dirty. Not to mention he took a puck to the face(nose) in game 7 of eastern conference finals against us in 2011 and came back (in the same game).
Absolute class act right there! He did end up breaking his tibia with the collision and is out indefinitely.
Prayer circle for Stamkos and a quick recovery!
