Alright so I've decided to make a post about my favorite bromances in the NHL. It was very hard for me to narrow down the nominees and pick the top 5. There are so many great bromances on every team, some teams even have more than one epic bromance. Some runner-ups were Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook, Patrick Sharp and Troy Brouwer, Carey Price and PK Subban (didn't make the cut because I can't stand them), Nathan Horton and Milan Lucic, I could go on and on so I decided to keep it to my top 5 favorite. (may vary during the season)
Drum roll please!!
Coming in 5th place, Matt Duchene and Paul Stastny.
What makes them so special? Well the 22 year old Duchene and 27 year old Stastny both from the Colorado Avalanche are a dancing pair. In 2010 when the Avs had a bit of a winning streak, Duchene and Stastny apparently had been watching too much How I Met Your Mother (like that's possible). The two were caught on camera doing their "Bang Bang" dance after beating Chicago 7-5, extending their streak. It was a hit in Colorado and the fans picked it up rather quickly. Too bad fans didn't get to see too much of it this past season with the Avs coming in dead last in their conference. Here's hoping this season we see more dancing!
Sadly Brandon Prust was traded to the dreaded Montreal Canadiens last season but when this pair was together they not only lit up a room but also lit up a goalie.
These two are just goof balls. They played on team Canada together, they chirp each other on twitter constantly, and they're roommates on and off the road. They have a cult following of fangirls and it just seems like Heberle are joined at the hip.
The two have recently been joined by Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and when these three are healthy they are a force to be reckoned with. Look out NHL the "kid line" has something to prove.
Ranking in at number 2, Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews
"From Toews to Kane, he shoots he scores!" C'mon like we haven't heard that a million times before. They shoot, they score, they dance. What can't this pair do? They've been compared practically their entire playing careers. The 2006 3rd overall and the 2007 1st overall draft picks. Canada vs. USA. The captain and the overtime god. I personally don't think the Hawks would have won the 2010 playoffs without these two. One was the MVP while the other casually scored the overtime goal in game 7 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The serious and the silly. The phrase opposites attract has never been more true in their case. Wild, party boy Kane and sensible, calm captain Toews. The two of them on the same line is explosive. I know I get a little/ a lot nervous when I see Kane and Toews flying over the blue-line toward our net. And who could forget their epic wingman ways..
Please, if you don't ship these two there is something wrong with you.
I know, now you are all thinking, who could possibly rival such an epic bromance that is the Kane and Toews bromance?
Taking the #1 spot......Tyler Seguin and Brad Marchand
Well well well who would have thunk that when the 2nd round draft pick came to boston that he would mesh so well with the nose face killah. A very unlikely pair but none the less a very entertaining pair. I feel their bromance really came to life when they got matching Stanley Cup tattoos and were constantly spotted together partying around Boston after the glorious 2011 cup win.

While they surely know how to have fun off the ice, one the ice lead by the perfect Patrice Bergeron the "field trip" line was born. With the guidance of perfect Patrice, Marchand and Seguin would battle for top scorer. They were like two peas in a pod or dumb and dumber (no offense). Seguin even named his dog Marshall ironically similar to Marchand. I don't believe that was a coincidence. However when Marchand seemed to have settle down a bit recently with his partying ways, Seguin was still going full steam ahead. The Bruins traded Seguin this offseason which means next season Marchand will have to move on from their charismatic bromance and find a new pal to cause rucus with. To commemorate such a wonderful bromace, enjoy this slideshow of some of their most memorable moments together.
