Ups and Downs

Well this week was a bit of a roller coaster for the Bruins. They won on Monday at home, got pummeled Wednesday and Thursday away in Canada, and then won Saturday back in Boston. What happened on their Canada roadie you ask? Beats me, if you have any idea feel free to share!

The Bruins looked solid against the Devils on Monday so when they lost so miserably against the Maple Leafs on Wednesday we were left utterly confused.
Taking a deep breath and blacking out the night before we looked optimistically to bring it in Montreal.
Let's just say the only thing brought to Montreal was a bag of pucks that the Habs put in the back of our net.
So now that the Bruins officially peeved their fans, we had to sit through a lovely Saturday matinee game vs the Hurricanes. Hip hip hooray for the youngster Griffith because he has really been impressing me lately! Thanks to him and Perfect Patrice the Bruins were victorious once again.

On deck this week:
St. Louis Blues (Tuesday-Home)
Columbus Blue Jackets (Friday-Away)
Montreal Canadiens (Saturday-Home)

On a sad note former Bruin, Nathan Horton (Now signed with Columbus) is facing a difficult decision that could end his hockey career. Horton underwent shoulder surgery in the summer of 2013 and came back to play 36 games last season. He missed so many games with a bad back and it has gotten so painful for him that his doctors are suggesting back surgery. The surgery would involve placing titanium rods into his vertebrae and at the age of 29 he would have to say goodbye to the NHL and the game he loves.
"I can't stand up like a normal person; I can't bend over," Horton told the The Columbus Dispatch. "I can't run. I can't play with my kids. To get in and out of the car, I'm like a 75-year-old man … so slow and stiff. I can't sleep at night. I try to lay down and my back seizes up and I can't move, so sleeping is out. I'm like a zombie in the daytime. I'm a ghost," he said. "But I'm not giving up. I still feel young other than my back. As long as I can hold off the surgery, I feel like there's a chance. A chance for something. A miracle. Something."
No one wants to see a player have to make such a heart wrenching choice and I for one am hoping for a miracle for Horton!
