Preseason Games Cont.

Game 3. Sept 19th

Quick recap of this fail: The Bruins lost 8-2. Malcolm Subban stopped 28 on 36 shots. Iginla finally answered a 4-0 deficit in the 2nd period with a tip in, assisted from Bartowski. Nick Johnson got a backhanded goal in the third, assisted from Spooner and Bartowski, but that wasn't enough to stop Detroit. They piled on 3 more goals before the end of the 3rd. 8-2... Lets just call this the mulligan game.

Game 4. Sept 21st
Pretty quiet game with the Bruins taking the W 2-0. Soderberg scored both goals for the Bruins, Chad Johnson got away with a shutout, and Moore fought Betuzzi in the 1st period.

Game 5. Sept 23rd
Well well well, this game was quite an exciting one! While I was in class learning away the Bruins took the ice and beat done their competitors.  2 goals, 5 fights, and one overtime winner. The first period might not have had many goals but there were plenty of fights. Miller vs Volpatti kicked off the evening followed by a mauling form Lucic on Rechlicz. A slapshot from Chara in the second period and a fight form Boychuk vs Rechlicz wrapped up the period. Chara netted a second goal in the third and fight night ensued in the garden. McQuaid fought Byers and Nick Johnson fought Cajkovski. With a slew of penalties handed out, the third period ended dead locked at 2. 3:39 into OT, Chris Kelly snaps in a practically open net game winner. Great way to end the game, not to mention we had the always lovely commentary from Jack Edwards and Andy Brickley.

Game 6. Sept 26th
Tonights projected lines are: (forwards) Marchand-Bergeron-Eriksson, Fraser-Spooner-Johnson, Caron-Lindblad-Smith, Paille-Campbell-Thornton, (defense) Seidenberg, McQuaid, Bartowski, Hamilton, Krug, and Miller. Svedberg is the starting goalie with Chad Johnson backing him up. Tonights game is televised on  NHL-Network at 7:30. With only two more preseason games left, the newbies are fighting for a spot in the big time lineup.  "You're only as good as your last shift" (Peter Chiarelli)
